About

My Story

I've been interested in jewelry for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until 2013 that I decided to seriously pursue it. I had the basic techniques, but I wanted to improve and learn more.

After looking into different options, I realized that I had the opportunity to study metalsmithing in Sweden (my mother is Swedish and I have dual citizenship.) It was a bittersweet decision to move away from friends, family, and the States, but it felt like a right.

I moved to Sweden in February 2014 and applied to a metalsmithing program. I studied creative metalsmithing for two years at Leksandsfolkhögskola, where I explored metal as medium. After that, I worked as a goldsmith’s apprentice for two years. During that time, I completed and passed the gesällprov (a traditional goldsmith’s test).

My Jewelry

My jewelry is equal parts classic and bold. I like to create contrasting details by using a combination of metals, oxidized silver and different finishes.

Many of my pieces include gemstones or pearls. My love for gemstones began when I was 12 and my family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. There were shops filled with gemstones and beads in every color. I was hooked and I've been collecting ever since! I love designing with gemstones and pearls because they add pops of color. Color has always been an important element in my life and now it is a way for this west-coast-girl to combat the grayness of Swedish winters.
